Born in Damascus in 1984, Motaz Mawed is a graphic designer and photographer most distinguished by his talent in the field of “Graphic Art” in which he primarily designs posters, ads and advertising paintings. Most of his work is certainly about the various concerns and worries of humans. He is most widely known for his inspiring advertising posters and paintings, which have appeared in several local and international advertising media. His most notable contribution to the field of graphic design has been the corporate work he created during the past years for the Dubai based company Swiss Art Gate UAE.
In addition to his talents as a graphic designer, he also experienced a successful photography career particularly as a Press photographer. He used his impressive mix of skills capturing evocative images of the details of life, in addition to his passion for taking street photos and photos of cities landmarks. Also, he documented a lot of cultural, festival and political events in conference halls and theaters, adding to all photos his own vision.
Motaz Mawed worked for several international organizations, institutions and companies within the field of design, photography and media. He also organized many visual, musical and cultural events, and he gave lectures in various art workshops. He also participated in numerous exhibitions (graphics and photography) since his first personal Graphic exhibition in the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus in 2008.
